'Amélie' opened in cinemas in France on this day in 2001. Jean-Pierre Jeunet's delightful romantic comedy stars Audrey Tautou as Amélie Poulain, a shy Parisian waitress who sets about changing the lives of the people around her which leads her on a journey to finding true love.

Re-released in cinemas in the UK and Ireland this month to mark its 25th anniversary, 'Amélie' will no doubt charm and entertain a whole new generation of filmgoers.
